How to Create a Medicine Mug

A collectable mug with an image of a Boston Terrier is filled with a nipper of whiskey, vitamin C, and soothing tea.

As we head into the cold and flu season, here's how you can create a medicine mug for a friend or loved one who is ailing. (PittaPat does not ship gift mugs; we create the mugs only.)

My dad, Dr. Tom, was an old-time doctor. While there’s always a time and place for something stronger, he’d much rather give you a recipe than write a prescription. For a cough, his go-to was whiskey and honey with a squeeze of lemon.

When you have a loved one feeling a bit under the weather, show you care with a mug of sure-fire remedies to chase that bug away.

In this mug, we’ve gathered a little whiskey, some on-the-go packets of Makuna honey from New Zealand, and a lemon from our tree. Although any honey will do, this honey is considered the best in the world, with all kinds of health benefits. We added some Emergen-C and Ginger Tea.

Animals associated with healing include dogs and cats, horses and hippos, crows and eagles. For our Medicine Mug, in a tip of the hat to Dr. Tom, we’ve selected the Boston Terrier mug since Tom was Boston born.
